This creek was so big that a high hole was virtually impossible.

benben reincarnated

Good chit, again.

I like the Boxer impersonation, pretty spot on.

So that snake ate the trout?  Did he catch it himself or was it already dead?

I also like how you have a nice "bug-out" container in the trunk of the rental, appropriate filled with all the bluelining esstentials.   'c;

Transylwader

@ Robby, yes, I'll let you give it a try in May, it's the shit -0-
@ Ben, zip lock bags galore to separate out the blueline equip, two rubbermaid tubs for jackets, waders, boots, packs etc. Enterprise pissed on my battery a few months ago after I left one of their chariots looking like a small tornado had passed thru it. Keeps the thing clean.
I don't know about the fish being alive or dead. As most of my mates know, I am shit scared of those fuckers. Socks told me to beat it over the head with a rock. I didn't do it needless to say, he wasn't doing anything to me, even though I know what a copperhead bite feels like.

Woolly Bugger

ex - I'm not going to live with you through one more fishing season!
me -There's a season?

Pastor explains icons to my son: you know like the fish symbol on the back of cars.
My son: My dad has two fish on his car and they're both trout!

_Fish_Pimp

Glad to see you're getting to fish some.. Beautiful fish too!  especially that big cockroach bd;0

shoulda killed that snake though...they always chase me around when I find them  :embarassed:

Jfey

Nice work on round two.  You got into a couple of blueline beasts.  I love that area you fished.  I saw a copperhead eating a trout last time I was around Whitewater falls also.  Pretty cool to watch it happen.
Yup, going fishing

FoulHook

Not bad for still pics

Really though, good to see you guys on the D even though it was less than stellar. Oh well, we'll hit a blue line next time you're in town. My days are numbered  :'(

Very nice thanks for taking us along. Cool snake pics.
I've got next week off and plan to spend it in the mountains.  0:0

Nice work Tranney boy!

Ben, great spot:  "I also like how you have a nice "bug-out" container in the trunk of the rental, appropriate filled with all the bluelining essentials."
I can see it now, DOOMSDAY PREPPERS, what to do when you cant reach your blueline

Hey all,

Tranny told me he's received a ton of PM's about that little stick...
and asked if I'd explain it.
Well for now it's a "one off", but may be in production shortly.

I did another "one off", but built two of them, it was originally badged as a "half" weight, but now that it's a production rod it says 1/2 (so I don't really know if that means "half" or "1-2", they tweeked the original.
It is a three piece five footer, and is being built by TFO. It has a price tag of $159. and they should have received the first shipment of them yesterday. The original rod weighed an ounce on the dot, don't know about the production version.

Tranny's 5'10" is a three piece rod and came in right at 1.5 oz.

So...as far as the current rod; reel options are a little slim on a rod this small, so TFO has built an ULA to fit it, I don't know if they have been shipped yet, but it is based on the new BVK series, so if you know what that reel series looks like and can imagine it in dark green at about an ounce and a half...I don't know the details of the reel, but when I spec'ed it to them, I said click drag....I'll take a pic when I get one.

If you are interested in the 5 footer, River's Edge Outfitters pre-ordered some and will probably be the first on the block to have them, you'll want to ask for Joe. He's spending more time at the Cherokee store right now, so if you call, that will be your best bet .

TFO and I are still discussing the 5'10" which is my second rod in a family of five 3 piece (shorter) creek rods.
initial sales of the five footer will help determine the market for the next in line which is Tranny's and so on.

Tranny, feel free to post up pics of either rod build (you know my shit ass internet and all)...
Hopefully I answered all the questions you guys had...
Tx

The TS 5'10" is a 3 piece 1.5oz blueline wand.
Specs:
7 guides (incl stripping guide on second section)
Matt finish
Full cork reel seat with slip rings
Full flex (no honeymooner pricks here)
Epoxy finish of God

Bonus? Comes in a rather stylish rod tube & sock as well as TFO's Warranty
Paired up with a Ross Colorado 0 and a DT2F line? Its the sickest blueline rod I have ever fished. Only complaint? I can't move to Asheville soon enough to put the hurting on those wily brookie bastages 8)

Sanded, but really "steel wooled"

Sorry if I high-jacked the thread.
But I was there too, and this is usually how our late night fishing conversations go anyway after two cases of beer.
So it might make you feel more like you were here

Good Shit Tx, How big did his head blow up when he saw his own name on it?  Just fuggin with ya Mike.

I bet that thing is a blast to fish, I know how fun my 6'6" is and its not even a full flex.  Might have to give one of those a build soon.  And hope to cast that little sucker if Mike lets it out of his hands.
