....before the storm.

I haven't been trout fishing for a month. I have taken the bote out a couple of times, got some kinks out with the new oars and played with some smallies.
Also got J worked up over a musky follow. Stalked some local carp to no avail. I was Jonsing.

We have already had 3 inches of rain this week and the sudden stall/course change of Flo presented an opportunity.
Went small stream. It was up a bit, but still pretty clear. I only had a few hours, so I did not walk far.
Everything was wet and steamy. And my pics suffered.  p;-  I did not clean the lens with every pull of the camera out of the pouch.  b';
Anywho, here they are............

Nymphing all the way.

Was into a bunch of small bows and brookies right away.
But the double nymph rig got down quickly in the deep holes, too.
And we know who cozy's up to root balls and blow downs?

Bang!

Slammed the trailer, big orange roll, quick side pressure and net kept him out of the roots.
Stream measured against the rod. 12" of hump backed, kyped up goodness.

Back to the grind.

Another quick raucous fight to keep her out of the branches.
12" rod measured.
I was pretty stoked!  -0-
