Finally!!!  The Smith is fishing like it ought to for this time of year!! Down where I was at there seemed to be more caddis in the air than sulfurs.  Now if Dominion could lay off the generation schedule a little next week, we can get on the river every afternoon when the bug action should be a little better.

My son: My dad has two fish on his car and they're both trout!

Here's one that Bob caught.  Those that know what's going on with this fish will know why this is the best fish of the day!

The adipose fin has been cut so we can track him.  The DGIF biologist marked a few hundred fish last year and this is the first I have seen.

trans they are all wild browns. There was another several miles of river added and a slot limit to protect the fish from 10"-24" in length for about 31  miles of river. Some of the browns were transplanted to other sections of the river and the adipose fin was removed to help track their movements.

Thats what I thought! When I hear of fins being clipped I think of the nasty triploid pellet heads in NC that sometimes don't have any pectoral fins :o Your guys browns on that creek are like no other, very good looking Truttas! ;D

The bite is still on!  Two of the better fish I have ever brought to hand on the Smith.
