After several failed attempts at covering water in West Virginia, we finally made it happen. Lots of mileage driven. The things you see while driving. Long, world record sized dildo trailers, and rafts tethered precariously to the tops of vehicles.

I met Buddy at the planned rendezvous point, we loaded our gear into one vehicle, and headed out. Landmarks found, clues discovered, and at last we found the trail. Geared up, and we hiked.

The low water was a concern only until we heard the crashing sounds of our target stream. We could hear the water from a good ways up the ridge. We slid down the mountain side and strung up the rods. It was a hell of a good feeling to be fishing with this fella. Haven't seen him in a long while.

I stood here, beside this large rock for 15 minutes gearing up. Pulling boots on, talking, making a hell of a ruckus. Even with the amount of noise I made, I still brought this gorgeous specimen to hand not 10 feet from me after 3 or 4 casts. This lit a fire under our asses. Sweet.

The water got better and better as we climbed. The creek was quite a breath of fresh air. Not rough, too steep, or life threatening. Just enough gradient for some nice pools.

After getting on up the creek our drainage was getting thin. We could've dropped in lower downstream initially but we didn't know. Maybe next time, if there's a next time.

Most pools held great fish numbers. We caught, lost, and screwed up taking pictures constantly. Lots of fish to the net. This trip was a reset button that needed pressing. Felt good to get away.

Until next time. Buddy, post your stuff up.

Sorry to disappoint you but that's a glider trailer.

I knew it was either that or a house-sized sex toy. Appreciate the clarification.

That's what I was thinking. Many of the creeks I've been checking out lately were almost total exploratory missions with little to show for my efforts in the way of fish. I'd still rather search creeks unknown to me than stomp the regular beats with all the others. Let's do the backpack mission. I'll likely be like, "Hey, Doug, what's that plant? Hey, Doug, what's this one? Dude, what's that flower? Can you eat this one? Did you ever sell that Subaru you had? Did you like that exhaust? How does it compare to your new one? Can I fish that creek you built? Is it posted?" You'd like it. Sound fun?  d:b

I'll throw a curveball into your equation:

Clue #1 - Two booths total.

Clue #2 - The mentioned toll total amount was for the round trip.

Clue #3 - I paid 60 cents too much at two tolls due to my not having exact change that it requested. (I wonder if they'll send me a ticket or something for shoving a rolled up dollar into the change collection basket, twice?)
