Title: Plan C
Post by: teachrtec on July 09, 2007, 19:25:19 PM
Plan A

Go to a warm water tail water. (Douglas)

Catch some big carp. Not done this yet on purpose.

Well TVA sort of changed the release schedule. I wanted 0 turbines but I got 1 after a 40 minutes. Lots of carp no takes 2 misses.

Plan B

Same place catch some strippers and white bass. Nobody home. Threw a lot of flies no go.

Plan C

Same place

By now 2 came on. Not by the published schedule. Oh well.

Put a pair on nymphs. Green Weenie and a # 16 GRBH Hares Ear (Flashback) under 3/4 inch of Rio Kahuna. I caught the big Bluegill to the tune of shameful numbers. I had two doubles. Some really big fish.

They could bend a 7 wt. pretty well

Sometimes you got to fall back and try a different direction or two.

Dang hot 91 deg.

I caught the most big Bluegill
