I'm not surprised that Deez Nuts is in the lead, I predicted that with this bunch. I am honestly surprised that so many would vote for Bernie the self-described Socialist.

Socialism is not intrinsically flawed, evil, or deficient.  The fuckers who won't pull their weight are the ones that are deficient, flawed, and evil.

My vote fell in the R column, but I luv Bernie.  We just cannot have nice things in America.  Gotta work with what one has, not one hopes for.

QuoteSignificance

There is evidence that the 2007−2010 drought contributed to the conflict in Syria. It was the worst drought in the instrumental record, causing widespread crop failure and a mass migration of farming families to urban centers. Century-long observed trends in precipitation, temperature, and sea-level pressure, supported by climate model results, strongly suggest that anthropogenic forcing has increased the probability of severe and persistent droughts in this region, and made the occurrence of a 3-year drought as severe as that of 2007−2010 2 to 3 times more likely than by natural variability alone. We conclude that human influences on the climate system are implicated in the current Syrian conflict.

It seems inevitable to me that Hillary is going to be the next president.

Anyone honestly disagree with that?

Yeah, ISIS is mostly rich kids, not displaced farmers.

No shit.  Read the text again.  It impicates climate for the fertile ground, not the seed.

The rebellion against Assad was triggered by the drought.  I seriously do not believe ISIS would have had a prayer of attaining any kind of toehold if Assad regime in 10 years ago when the country was stable.  Arab Spring is a gift that keeps on giving.

He is less of an idiot/liar/crook/asshole than the others?
Except Deez Nuts.

I do believe it's that simple.

I think it's more complicated.  You understand his proposals, and what the implications of those proposals will be?

Our country is quickly turning away from any personal sense of self-responsibility and self-reliance; and evolving into a society of brainwashed, uncaring pussies who sit around whining with their hands out. The candidates people elect now are just the ones that promise the most free shit, paid for with other people's money.

Yeah, I'm not sure I'd parse it that way, but I get your underlying premise.  I don't think the average supporter of Bernie Sanders has any idea what would be necessary to effect his policies.

Folks have been bitching and moaning about something for eons; there is always a something and it is forever changing.  Ebb and flow in our psyche is normal, a constant fluctuation of our concern, complaining, etc..

I can't remember who said this, but it might ring true.  [We don't need better politicians; we need a better, more informed electorate.]

Yes.  If the electorate was "better, more informed", Bernie Sanders would have been kicked to the curb a long time ago.

Yes perhaps, along with all the other candidates, with the exception of Kasich.

Your statement implies that people are rational and will evaluate each candidate on what the NET benefit or loss his/her platform will impose on their personal lives.  When the middle class begins to understand they will likely be net losers under Sanders' platform and not just 1 percenters, they will abandon him like rats on a sinking ship.  People vote with their pocket books...this I am sure of.
