Some of you may have observed the wonderful dragonfly migration this year. A few weeks back I saw thousands. This week I've seen a few. The locals were freaking out and rumors blossomed.

I saw a radar image of the dragon fly migration and just thought it was fake news!
Haven't seen any more than usual here in western NC. Oh, and they have always been called "snake feeders" here.
In NOLA they call them Mosquito Hawks.
Saw a flock? swarm? of several hundred yesterday. Pretty wild.
Very interesting. Thanks for posting.
 nice interview, glad I listened to it, I thought it might have just been a link to the radar story, the Mudwall being useful in retirement d:b
They're back! Several hundred of the migrating Anax junius were oscillating about 6' over one of my mowed fields yesterday evening around 6pm. These are the first I've seen this year.
Sounds cool. Only ones I see here are reddish in color. And not very many.
