I got bitten by one of those wheel bugs once, one of the more painful bites from any bug I have ever experienced. Bastard had climbed into one of my work gloves that I had left on the porch rail. It apparently didn't like me sticking my hand in there. It quickly became a flatbug.

There's a related one in South and Central America, the cone-nosed kissing bug, that bites people while they're sleeping, and carries the Chagas disease.
