Went to the lowest hanging fruit tree hoping to cash in on a pre spawn brookie bite. Caleb and I started up trailed creek, then forked off up an abandoned trail, then dropped in gorge to just below a higher gradient section. The objective was to lop off a section of brown water down low. Dredge with the usual well longer than I should've, but after a period of less than stellar action, I changed things up. Within 5 minutes, a monster brown ~ 14" struck. After circling the small pool, then diving, the just added leader segment broke. The curse words started flying. The brown was engaged at the bottom of this run of cascades below.

I lost two more about 13". Clearly quality fish for stream this small.

Brookies were off today probably due to spawning already starting, but having 3 hours to be unplugged was pure heaven.
