The following is an excerpt from the letter sent to current and former sponsors of the Pigeon River Project.

2006 is a crucial year for the program. Sponsorship has declined to the point where continued stocking and feeding of our managed stretch of the East Fork of the Pigeon will not be feasible beyond this year.
If you wish to have this program continue, we need you to renew your Sponsorship now. (Also, new sponsors are needed to replace those who are not going to renew.)

To make the Pigeon River Sponsor Program more viable we are announcing several changes and improvements for 2006.
1. FREE GUESTS: Each sponsor will be allowed to bring one guest for a
maximum of 6 visits per year.
2. SPONSOR PERIOD: January 1 through December 31 (this will simplify the
monitoring since everyone will now be on the same membership period)
3. FEEDING and STOCKING OF TROUT: We have been able to arrange for
several residents to feed the stocked fish on a regular basis. If we get sufficient Sponsor revenues we will explore the possibility of stocking some brood trout and/or larger trout.
4. SPONSORSHIP CATEGORIES:
A. Annual Sponsor: $65.00 paid anytime and effective for rest of calendar year.
*Allowed to bring one additional person each visit up to 6 times per year.
B. Guide Sponsor: $120.00 paid anytime and effective for rest of calendar year.
*Allowed to bring up to two guests unlimited times per calendar year.
*At time of payment, must supply copy of guide license, proof of liability
insurance, and permit numbers from GSMNP and NFS.
C. Lifetime Sponsor: $500.00 Unlimited trips per lifetime.
*Allowed to bring one guest up to 6 times per calendar year.

A list of all paid-up Sponsors will be posted on the check-in kiosk.
Daily fishing at the usual $7 will continue to be available.

You only have to do two things to become a Pigeon River Sponsor and enjoy the fishing the rest of this year:
1. Fill out the Waiver and Information form. Click here.
2. Mail form with a check to: LOS Pigeon River Project
