New to this forum....Happy to read and swap ideas...

I've been fly fishing since I was in eighth grade sitting in Bo Cash's science classes.  I'd chased trout with a spinner for years before, but it was listening to Bo's stories of fly rods and trout that hooked me before my first rod.  For Christmas that year, my mom took me to Bo's shop and after they swapped stories for a while, Bo went into his rod vault and pulled a fiberglass rod from the stacks and said, "here, this is yours.  Your grandfather gave it to me when I was a boy."

I'm a full-time English teacher in Morganton, NC but guide a little on the side during the school year and row the South Holston with friends and clients just about all summer long.

Happy to take whatever bashing I need to take as noob to this group.

Welcome.  I've always had an admiration for English teachers.  I had a huge crush on Ms. Palumbo back in the 5th grade.  Essentially I wasted the entire year of some likely important language instruction.  Gawking at her long legs and trying to sneak a peek up her skirt when she crossed her legs was a full-time classroom job.  How in the heck can a hormonal engrossed boy learn in that environment?

Well, I really never caught up with that English business after that 5th grade entertainment.    Once you've seen glimpses of pink silky panties on a gorgeous 23 year old gal your middle school education is pretty much shot.  Then you get to high school and you get up-close and personal with such pink silky delights, obviously the infatuation continues, swells, and becomes more costly.  That is entirely another chapter.

I was always ashamed of not paying attention and doing better in English.  So, please correct any grammar, syntax, etc. of my writing.  Seriously!

Let me start with the usage of a word that has baffled me for some time.

This was Transy's text from yesterday.
"Say Woolly, can we send this tosser a Chambers Engrish DICKtionary with a cassette tape and headphones/walkman (I'm guessing that technology isn't quite there where this fine specimen is from) and some AA batteries to learn him to spell?"

Is this the correct use of the word, learn?  Many thanks.

Oh dear Father who art frowning upon Flappy ::)
Lest it be forgotten my descendency? I speak British English and I often have to lower myself to American English, specifically, BARFFF dialect since we have such an array of inbred Appalachian trash on this here board. The goal is to leave supterfuge to confuse thee fuck out of said subjects. The hope is that they shall use the Chambers English Dictionary to translate my profane but sincere remarks. Tally-ho, old chap.
Mr. English teacher, mate:

Please do admire the array of twattage the namesake keepeth within the confines of this Alligator fuckhouse. I bid you fair warning. The inferior feral filth residing north of the great Tarhole State are always attemtping to snipe, chirp, antagonise, much to my dismay. I often shake my head in wonder how it is the Lord provideth air for these oxygen thieves.

Jolly good then, great chat and please, post a proper intro, tits, fish porn or you sir, can get the fuck out n!n

Still a little unsure of what a proper intro consists; however, I'll also add that I co-founded Casting for Hope, an event that my fishing partner and I once thought was going to be a one-time fundraiser for The Hope Chest for Women located in Asheville, NC that serves financially-struggling women and families who are surviving with feminine cancers.  Since 2011, we've raised over $100,000 for women and families in WNC who are battling ovarian or other gynecological cancers and have in the past year become our own non-profit organization.  We have fused two successful models:  that of retreats to take patients and care givers to the rivers to participate in the healing and restoration that comes with fly fishing and financial aid to families who can't make ends meet because of the finances that come with battling ovarian or other gynecological cancers.

Some fish porn.....

There really isn't a proper intro, but you did well on round 2.   Another tiger trout on an intro and nice leroy from last weekend. 'c;  Did you snag it from the grates on the SOHO like a true trout pro?    Welcome to the low rent district.
Yup, going fishing

Dougfish

Another tiger.  >:( Fuck me.

Good re-load. Pull up a chair.  'c;

Alas, I did not snag this guy from the grates at the SoHo.  Only "Pros" can do that.  This was on a WNC river system.  Big wild browns certainly do have area codes.  I'd hooked that guy four times over the last eighteen months.  Each time, he'd bolt down river 150 yards through a series of minor rapids to a deep pool and post up there.  Each previous time, I couldn't keep up with him.  He looked rather spawned out in that picture, so maybe he was a little slower than usual...I'll probably never keep up with him again!

I have read this in many places before and ran across it a number of times when I was researching for my dissertation.

Happy to correct your grammar whenever you want!
