What's the earliest anyone's hooked up?
I've caught them in the past as early as now. Just depends on water temps and bait.
I am hopefully goin for them guys in november sometime

Word from off shore of morehead is there are acres of them. all we need is the water temps to drop, all the fresh water from the rains to wash out and the salinity to get back to normal, water to clear up and bait to run. ;D

Who plans on getting down there, near Harker's or Oregon Inlet, this fall?
I'm going early November. Never done it before. Should be a good'urn!

October 24 through the 28th. for me, give or take a day or two on either end!
In years past we caught them in close off hatters with 'Clark Spoons'. What flies do you all use?

I'll be going as much as possible when October hits... last year I had shots at them Oct 15.
a buddy e-mailed me this morning that they are thick offshore. he's been chasin' bills... no luck there but plenty of albies.

It's really something, watching a school of baitfish getting ripped to shreads. Unfortunately, it requires a boat to chase those schools of bait.... :'( It sure gets crazy out there, though, doesn't it? Notice all those boats.... :o ;D ;D
