This fish was caught by my little brother in a lake in Missouri. He didn't know the ID on the fish, and frankly, neither do I. It has characteristics of a green sunfish and a warmouth, and possibly some other things as well. Is this fish just a mix? Hybrid? or does anyone else have any thoughts?
Maybe just a spawning green sunfish?
Thanks

That looks like a Lepomis gulosus (warmouth) to me. If it is a hybrid, it doesn't seem to show many characteristics of a green

^ This. We got em in several lakes/ponds in Raleigh NC. Tell tale signs is the larger mouth and colourations. The fight like dogs on a 0wt.

Warmouth

Look at the one in my thread about bluegill from this weekend
Missouri and Texas are full of Warmouth.  Such as Lake Sam Rayburn
