Took the after noon and headed to the New River again. Met a fellow just getting off the river, Bill Barker, and he reported lots of small fish and two nice ones of 14 & 16, all on top, yellow, white, sliders and poppers.

I was anticipating a great evening of fishing, but the wind had kicked up complicating the wading and casting a bit. But soon enough the Chartreuse Gurgler attracted a nice smalle and I continued to have good luck with that fly. They I noticed that the tread had come unwound and the Gurgler wasn't one anymore. Only other color Gurgler I had in the box was white, so I tied it on. Although it was harder to see, the fish didn't have the same problem! I took a number of 12" and one about 14" who released him self from my grip before I could snap a picture. Fished till dusk, and I drove home shortly after the Canada Geese flew over head!
