Rivercourse was a tremendous success this year.  We had 15 campers, 12 boys
and 3 girls.  Their ability levels were very mixed; ranging from those who had never
held a fly rod to those who had been fishing for years.  They all learned a lot from
the speakers who covered topics that included entomology, wildlife regulations,
fish biology, cold water conservation, reading the water, equipment, and a whole
lot more.  The volunteers also had a wealth of information that they passed on to
the kids - knots, casting, equipment, stream etiquette, and of course fly tying.  We
spent many hours at the vices, and the campers had a great time learning to tie
and honing previously acquired skills.  Fly tying and fishing are always their two
favorite activities during their week at Rivercourse.

Thanks to all of you who donated flies, each camper had a wonderful collection
of flies to use during the week and great examples of fly patterns to imitate at
the vice.  We had enough flies donated that each kid had a fly box full of flies to
take home at the end of camp.  Thank you very much for all of your hard work - I
really appreciate your support of Rivercourse and the kids wanted me to pass on
a special "Thank You" from them as well.  Let's do it again next year.
