Had a half-day with no other obligations and decided to take advantage of the warm weather that has shown up for a couple of days. This creek is probably the closest wild water to the house for me (1 hr). Foolishly, I've overlooked and drove past it many times going to well-known water. I suspect some of you probably know the stream, but we can keep it a secret.

I was welcomed by sunshine and bugs coming off. So fished an Adams over a PT, and they were looking up as long as some sun was on the water. An Adams brought 30ish pune browns to hand. Not much dropper love, but that's cool with me. Once the sun was no longer hitting the creek, the dry fly bite was off. Switched to some small streamers missed a leroy or two, and hiked back out. I'm not the photographer that wooly is, but here are some shoddy cell phone pics to complete the report. Decent way to spend the afternoon. I'd love to backpack in and fish the whole creek sometime. Alot of water still unseen here.

Very nice.  Looks like a good day.

I got out on Wednesday and fished the upper gorge section of a popular NC stream. I didn't have the numbers you did, but my experience was similar in that they were looking up when the sun was on the water. Outside of that, nada.
