Pastor explains icons to my son: you know like the fish symbol on the back of cars.
My son: My dad has two fish on his car and they're both trout!

I'm guessing there is a story behind that broke rod and it does not involve hooking up to a fish.

TroutMedic

Someone thinks it's clear enough to fish.

Aren't most rods broke on something besides fish?
I casted the top three sections off while chucking streamers for a couple of hours without checking to see if things were loosening up.
Took about 3/4" of the male ferrule with it. Knew it was doomed after that.
5 or 6 trips later, and many fish, it snapped on a hang up. Weaker than 5x tippet.
When it's time, it's time.
Going in the mail today.

It's taken a while to get folks thinking like this but there may be life in the old Smith after all

They should worry about improving stream conditions, not stream bank conditions.

Dougfish

Money spent on anything along the river causes people to look closer at the river itself.
It's all good in the end.

TroutMedic

I think that money is suppose to be for a bait shop as well   Would be nice to get a fly shop.

Got the rod back from the big O yesterday. Almost 5 weeks to the day.
Still a Hydros, not a Recon. They replaced the bottom section only. I guess they deemed the female ferrule in the next section OK.
The quality of the cork is not as good as the original, either. They are not getting five stars from me on this deal.
