Didn't really know something like this existed.
I'm not a huge fan of the man himself, but some of his books are decent.

I have a friend that attended the U. of Alaska years ago, and Kephart's books were required reading for some Field Ecology/Wildlife Management courses.

I've never been to Gastonia or the Schiele Museum.  I enjoy such places and this Kephart celebration may be enjoyable.

Have any of you Carolinians been to this museum?

I got dragged to an outlet mall in Gastonia once by my girlfriend.  That was my only experience in Gastonia.  Awful.

Schiele Museum is a small county museum.  Nothing extraordinary about it.  They cater mostly to the local schools here with lots of programs for kids (I was there once with my son's school group).  A lot of local history and Natural Sciences.

They do have a cool planetarium though.

Kephart Prong in the Smokies is a shitty stream, IMO. Not worth fishing anymore.
