What is this critter?

Any idea of the meaning of these small rocks stacked on the larger stone?  I am sure it was meant for that cairn killer, Doug (my interpretation presented).

Caught a few brookies today after water dropped from Thursday's night rain.

Sorry, I forgot to add a selfie for wildmttrout.  Any head doctors out there?  Drinking and inebriation alone by the campfire --- do I have a problem?

Isn't that fire a little small for you or was the night still young?

Big muddy: don't confuse symptoms with problems.

I think that Pebbleglyph was Cro-Magnon made.

Nope, Cro-Magnons were over 7' tall.  I believe the wingnut that made this pebbleglyph was a Neanderthal.

TC, no confusion.  I am mindful of the symptoms, differentiate them very well, but should I worry?

Benben, the fire got much bigger.

Now someone put a name on the winged critter, before I lose faith in all of you.

Giant Stonefly? The mottled wing is curveballing me.

Nope, not a giant stone.

This particular critter is not as prolific as most stoneflies.  It is common in just about every freestone stream, emerging now in many locations, with the adults seen lumbering in flight through the streamside vegetation.

Female Dobsonfly? Can't tell if it has mandibles or not.

In matter of fact, it's a Dark Fishfly or Nigronia fasciata.

Fishfly -- correct!  But I think it is N. serricornis.

Good job young man!

I do plan on learning my trout insects a little better though once I get out of these classes I'm in.
