Post by: Michael Toris on June 16, 2015, 07:31:39 AM
Cut the Time Warner Cable a week ago.

Running a fire TV stick and loving it.

TWC still fucked me a lil just one last time tho. Attempted to turn in the cable box this morning; nope, don't open till 9. Dafaq.

My wife have contemplated that for a while now. The only thing I will miss would be football. I'm not sure what options there are fro streaming college ball, if I can figure that out I'll be doing the same.

I've been wanting to do this as well. But the sports are what keep me holding on. A really good OTA antenna will get you all you of your local stuff.  We have a apple tv, and a smart tv. Glad you brought this up. I'm going to look into it again.

No cable for 4 years now.  I just hijack the inlaws comcast account on the computer and stream whatever I want to the tv.  d:b

TWC, there's your FML moment.
There's good TV, there's better TV and then there's DIRECTV
Free Porn too :;!

DirecTV is good. Best equipment over anyone. When my customers ask which TV service to get, I always tell them DirectTV. But its the same price as TWC, and I live in the woods. Trees + Satellite = 0

When we bought our new house we shopped for a "bundle" provider. Nobody offered Internet, TV and phone there except a local phone company. It works great. No problems whatsoever.

That bundle shit flabbergasts me. Our local provider offers that, and have not in 4 years been able to explain to me why it is more expensive for me to have less things. We don't use a land line. Have not called anyone from it in 4 years and have only had telemarketers call it, but it's $25 cheaper a month for me to have it.

After moving back here I had cable for a year or so for football then remembered I don't really like football that much.
No cable, no local TV, no streaming, no problems. I don't miss the cable news stations, the mindless laugh track comedies, fake reality shows, or hyped up crime dramas. A lot of reading is done in our house (my daughter tested in the 99th percentile in reading this year on her EOG). We rent some redbox movies and she gets an hour or two to watch videos on her ipod on the weekends.

Don't let it flabbergast you. It just means we pay far too fuckin' much for this bullshit. I turn my house phone volume to zero so I never hear it ring. Fuck em. I have no cell service basically so text is the primary way of communication. Love it.

Good shit.

She was placed in the gifted program a year early because of her reading level. It's great except when she wants to read something at an 8th grade level when she's in 3rd grade...

That's good though right? At least she's staying interested. When I was entered into the academically gifted group about her age I liked it for a while then started dicking off. Should've applied myself more.  :;!

Cut the Directv cord last week. Sling tv will bring you all of ESPN, ESPNU and SEC network for $25/month. Fire stick lets you download and run the Sling app.
