If you poke around on bluelines, there are always questions.
What's the next couple of miles look like? What does the next drainage over look like? How do I get to point A?
Can I drive? Or do I walk?
Fire roads in the NF's are crap shoots. Is it gated? Seasonal?
Down because of a blown out culvert (today's detour).

Then there are the rumors. The false hopes. The bullshit.
So, I drove 2+ hours to chase a rumored access that I knew was not there.
But I went anyway. Still not there. But I had other eggs to fry in that hood.

Passed by option 1 before I realized it and kept going to option 2. Gate closed.  b'; Did the loop around and came in the other side. Score.
This is the head water of one branch that I have fished lower. What do we have up here?

25 y.o. Nissan don't care.

Every stream of any size has remnants of logging. Find the road/RR grade and you have the easy path down/up without spooking fish.

From a piss trickle at the truck, we now have a brookie factory.

I had been catching them with a nymph until I came to this pool. Clipped that puppy off and tied on a Fin special. An orange foam beetle. Four fish. Including a badass buck and doe pair. 8" and 9".

Hiked down about 1000 feet. Fished about 500.
Next time I'll put in a full day and cover all the miles.

Stay safe and saucy, my friends.

 :cheers
