This cat can play!

Was supposed to take off Thursday and head out to Shady Valley for the 33rd annual PFF, but no, I was on call and had to work some that afternoon and again on Friday morning. Hit the road around one, just in time to hit a traffic jam in Boone! Set up camp, tossed a coin and headed further west to hit the pulse and sulfurs. Two trucks parked in my spot turned out to be Carter, Brad, and Kyle. The pulse was turbid with a ton of stirred up diddymo. Bug were coming off in the wind but the fish weren't showing themselves. I did, however, manage to drink two beers, take some pics while talking to the crew, and catch five trouts, before things stopped working on the surface and it was time to head back to camp for dinner!

Stayed up way too late, got up way too early. Reports were that the Beaverdam was running high, too high to wade much, so I went back to the same o same o, managed to catch a few despite the howling winds and getting low holed but an Orvis Guide and then five of the PFF crew, hemmed in I decided it was time for lunch and a nap!

Back at camp we sat around a bitched about the wind, it was in the 60s but it felt like low 40s. Finally I took a seat in the car and called my gal. "Well, if the fishing is off and the wind is so bad, why don't you just pack up and come on home," she suggested. I thought about it for half a minute and then started breaking camp. Hope ya'll had a great low country boil and the wind didn't destroy any more tents and canopies

It sure was grand to see everybody again....

You shoulda stuck around Woowee. 34 Saturday night with a WFO 20 kph wind. Croaker had to nurse that boil pot for a couple hours to feed us. Thankfully the wind FUBARed the damn Yankees' canopy and some engineers fashioned a wind break to keep the flame from burning out. 'c;

Good times, glad Kyle didn't get run over by the county's bush-hog when I left his ass asleep on the side of the beaverdam.

I picked up a hippie hitchhiker in a John3:16 rainbow wig and he was more concerned about Kyle than I when I said, "Fuck him, he's a big boy" -+;
