Pastor explains icons to my son: you know like the fish symbol on the back of cars.
My son: My dad has two fish on his car and they're both trout!

I needed to find some clean water and a place to float to accommodate my son.  So off to some new water in the CF watershed that had a fair amount of municipal water supply reservoirs in the watershed to keep the nasty at bay.  Jim was today's partner in crime.  I overslept by about 2 hours therefor we started late.  Did manage to eek out about 4 hours of fishing.  Shuttles and paddling take up to much damned time on float trips.

Flow was about 88 cfs, a somewhat augmented flow due to the controlled releases upriver.  If this were still a  free flower, it would have been running about 30 cfs.  However, these reservoirs do seem to have an adverse effect on nutrient levels.  Stable levels also allow panfish to reproduce at insanely high rates.

All of my bass came unglued.  I was talking to some passers by whilst I was whining about the lack of visible bass, had a taker and lost that one too b';  All panfish today for me.  Had a gar that was trying desperately to eat but I yanked my mess out of it's nasty ole mouth before he had a chance.

Hypericum, St. John's Wort. Lots of different species. Probably H. mitchellianum.
Good day to be out!

Thanks bro.  Kinda odd this stuff is growing on a river island, then again, maybe not.  Not easily molested there.
