I know I've ruffled some of yalls feathers, but shit, it's a forum after all.
Me and a buddy who went to VT are headin up that way for the weekend. Just trying to get an idea of drainages to look at. I'm not asking for creek names or anything, somethin I can map out and pick a line and roll.
If nothin else, I asked halfway polite!
Get high.
Yeah that's the plan, this rain is likely killing any obvious choices. Looking for 3000' + at the moment....We shall see
Try the Jackson up near Covington. Heard it was a little high, but not unmanageable... :banana072:

I ain't a retrad bru..... Don't worry, I'll figure my own way out there. It ain't too hard to look near Pembroke and Narrows and take a stab at it.
I hear WV is nice.
Haha, roger, I knew it was a long shot to even bother askin yall. No worries.
I'll do a self guided trip and see what happens. If I get anything good I may even send up a lil ol TR.
Holler back gentle-ladies.
A little south of your destination, and I can be of assistance. Depends on what you're looking for.
With all this rain, I don't know that anything other than a blue line would be fishable...I'd love to hit the New for smallies, but not with those gage readings.
Dude, it's July. Flows drop rather quickly this time of year.
The New watershed in Va wasnt affected. Unless you plan to fish the James or Greenbrier, you will be fine.
The New looked fishable a few days ago.

Streamer water.
High sticking water. #4 weighted double tungsten bead black stone dropped behind a #1 jighead barbel eye weighted orange clawdad.
On #0 tippet. No indicator, of course. Dig your heels in. And bring your big boy net.
Or do this.

I've done the Gauley a few times. It was nuts.
That was stupid. :o
You sure as shit won't catch me in that kinda water. I have this thing called a will to live y;
VT is no where near the Gauley, Greenbrier, or upper James.
For dog's sake, just go, and enjoy yourself. Some are amusing themselves at your expense.
I'm well aware Onslow.... It don't bother me.
Even the Jackson is back to normal flows. Just go fishing dude.
Just say fuck it, and link up with us this weekend.
Careful out there guys, trees have washed out and are blocking the Jackson...take a chain saw bro -+;

I am headed to the Jackson in one hour ---Crossed the lower and upper yesterday and both looked fishable. Today's the wife's birthday so I will fish to celebrate and relish in the element that I remembered her special day but not the year. Damn you to hell dementia; today I win!!!
