Title: Live to Fight Another Day
Post by: Onslow on May 06, 2022, 13:27:01 PM

Damn, fishing is hard work. I believe I need a job so my life will become a tad bit more comfortable.

I headed out just before 9 for a quick hit.  I've been up to this place before, but for some reason, I've never put any serious effort here since 2014.  I was wanting to push up higher in the gorge, look for any trail remnants that would make fishing this creek a little more feasible, sensible, and not a death wish.

Moisture was banking up against the BR, with light rain falling. Lighting was very dim, and unfortunately, I forgot to bring my glasses. No changing up things today!

Fishing here has changed.  Years ago, the population was more dense with smaller fish.  Now, there are few fish, but many whoppers.

First of the day.

This one was right at about 10 inches.  Lost one larger pushing 12 right at the net.

Crazy gradient past where the trail ends. Landslides, complete collapsing of hillsides due floods, steep gradient, have all but eliminated any trails.

Honestly, after seeing this mess, I made the sensible choice to turn back.  I had only ventured 150 past where the trail ended, and it was a daunting pain in the ass to backtrack that far.

Wish I could've pushed further up.  The bite was picking up.

Somewhat traumatized by what had just been endured.

Whats blooming today?

Not sure what this little freak of nature is.  Plant or fungi?
