Title: whitey

Gas $3.89 44-54 cloudy to party sunny

Since the local is still running high I had to gallivant across the state to catch the whitey run.
I was a bit surprised that I had the river to myself, but it was a bit chilly and maybe everybody was waiting for the promise of a warm Wednesday.

I grabbed a handful of clousers, 2 chartreuse and white, 3 black and white and 1 tan and white.

The fish were there and aggressive, but I also caught trees and underwater structure, had a knot fail and ended up losing a bunch of flies.

Did they show a color preference in the Clousers?

Maybe — I would have stayed with chartreuse if I hadn't lost them — the black and white was very effective but that could have been just the location where I was fishing at the time

Yes, they are running up the creeks and they looked grand, fine specimens! I'm sure that @driver has caught some larger ones — but these were "fun size" on the 5 weight!

Good stuff , Keith.  I have caught a number of whiteys on a fly rod and they are tuff customers
