NCWRC says we are all happy  - follow link to press release  http://www.ncwildlife.org/index.htm

Did any of you participate in this telephone survey?

I didn't participate in the survey, however I did phone them and speak to them about the streams. I voiced my concerns and they seamed to understand.
The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane.

QuoteAn overwhelming majority (81 percent) of trout anglers reported being very or somewhat satisfied ....

If you aren't actually unhappy, then you must be happy. (I want bang_head back >:( )  Still, I have to say that overall, NC is doing pretty well.  We need more stream access in some areas, but we are blessed with a lot of National Forest and National Park land which is open to the public.

QuoteThe profile of a typical trout angler is changing from a rural resident with minimal education who prefers to fish locally for stocked trout with natural bait ....

;)
Is this scientific proof that bait fishermen are ignorant redneck mouthbreathers?

Not trying to be ugly but alot of people, i'm sure a few on this board were raised in fishing as baitfisherman, there is nothing wrong with the way a guy fishes as long as he respects the water and other fisherman, thats the type of attitude that makes others think all fly fisherman think they are better than others, dont hate someone for how they fish, that man probably loves what he does as much as you. I reaaly am not trying to ugly toward you at all, just would like to see people on the river get along.

Now thats funny right there!

Don't apologize!  We're fly fishers, right?  That means we're supposed to be uppish!  It's okay to feel sorry for the ignorant bait chunkers, we were all there at some point or other.....we just evolved! :P ???

Wooly, please get rid of these retarded smilies!

The truth hurts but not as much as a gas guzzling, eco wrecking SUV hitting you at 100 MPH!  Yeah baby, yeah!

I don't think of fly fishers as uppish????

The folks I know are far from that description. Maybe it's the company you keep?
were just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl....year after year........

Gofisher

The "retarded" scrolling line is much worse than the smilies...jis' sayin'...Hemp, I gotta kind of agree, it could be the company.
Yankee by birth, Rebel by choice.

Most of us have done our share of bait fishing. I still do for certain species. Some of us have evolved to were we don't anymore but that doesn't or shouldn't make us better then where we all came from. If it is legal and you comply with the law, go for it.

Like it or not, if it were not for all those "bait chuckers" the state game departments would not have enough funds to operate.

Uh, it was a joke, hence the  ;).

I don't particularly have a problem with bait fisherfolk.  I rarely fish any water they are allowed to defile fish ;) (<--another joke).

It was the State of NC that said they had no edumacation, not me.  I would never disagree with anything the government says.

Besides, if we can't make fun of bait fishemen, we would have to limit our material to n00bs, whorevis and those funny little bamboo rods.  ;)
