I closed 2019 with an epic fail. I was considering where to fish, but I was reticent on where to fish. My heart wasn't in it? Anyhow, I choose small and got skunked for the first hour+. Packed up and cruised over to the cursed tailwater. With my 7' rod and no tailwater flies. Fished a really good run. Nada. Packed up and went home to good food and wine. It ended up that I was coming down with a cold, too. Bad holiday juju.

Kids, presents, glorious meals and the cold mostly behind me, it was redemption day. Middle daughter was thrown a shower by her aunts at the Homestead. Anne was invited, but I wasn't. Awww, that's a shame.
I drove her up, left her at the front door and went fishing for a few hours.

J fished the lower last week. I fished the upper. Crappy little money stream, 12 months of the year. A very light rain and warm temps were on tap.

Size 14 Frenchie did the work. A one fly. no lost fly kind of day. Out of 35ish fish, 15ish were small! brookies. Encouraging recruitment!

A hell of good start to the year. Nicely done.

What's a "money stream?"

What about a "crappy little money stream"?

I dig it though, and the rod is a hell of a deal with the warranty they provide.

It's a semi roadside stream. Little pressure? Trash, erosion, always hungry, nice fish.
Money. Always on.
