As most of you know, our friend, Juddie  passed away before Christmas.
I was fortunate to be present for a small family ceremony down by the
river this past Saturday. A remembrance, a farewell, an end, a beginning,
so it goes. 

After all was said and done, Rhody and I went fishing for a bit. Returning 
after dark, to pick up Rhody's truck, it was strange, knowing that Juddie
won't be riding down to say farewell.

Here's to you Juddie.



Puff daddies skittered across the surface brought a few small browns to
hand before things shut down entirely. We headed down to catch the
falling water, and fished well beyond reason.











We had dinner at a great Mexican place in Elizabethton, of course we
were starving, all we had to drink or eat was morning coffee. We drank
a gallon of tea, and went without cerveza. The weather turned to crap
and I didn't really want to drive over the hump in the rain, so I spent
the night.

I got to the river at daybreak, the water was going to come early
today and I had a little over two hours to fish.









I managed to hook and loose three really good fish, they were unseen
brutes, subway fish, left the station, into the dark.

On the way up river, I stopped in at Webb's for a little breakfast.



Up river, on the falling water, things were real quiet, only a few midges
were coming off the water and hardly any fish were seen rising.



A bwo flew by, a fish rises, there is hope.



got fish to rise, but wasn't going to tolerate much more abuse



headed back up the trail...



to the unclean masses....

Headed on down river on the falling water, got into a run of non-stop action, lost a pig.

Next time you bastards....next time....

You may wanna try the Moffit (Muppet) system. The circle hooks are sure to stick those pigs right in the kisser!

Last time over I rode past Juddies and his dog was sitting in the front yard just looking out towards the river.
You could see what he was thinking as I was thinking the same.
