I think I want an 8ft 2 weight rod for Christmas.  What is available and what is good?  I prefer two piece rods. Thanks

Stuart R.

Not sure who makes a 8ft 2wt but St. Croix used to make a 7.5fter in a 2wt. It was a really nice rod. I thought about buying one several times just couldn't find a need for anything under a 4wt. Maybe that is a more helpful answer than a link to Google. I mean this is a fishing forum afterall! 'c;

Buy an okuma SLV 2/3 weight. It's more of a 2 weight really. It has slower action, and is 8 foot in length. It is a 4 piece, but is quick to set up. For what you seek, this is a perfect match. And at 79 dollars, very affordable.

You know that Okuma SLV I bought from you?  I'm still using it.  I got my custom 6ft brookie rod back a month ago and still haven't used it since I like the longer fly rod on small streams.  I'm thinking about selling it, it's pretty much brand new.
