Brown can cleanse my mind. Brown leaves, brown trout, brown bottles did this weekend.

Franzen and I headed out early Sunday (some people go to church and think about fishing while some go fishing and think about God) hoping to get farther on this piece of water than we'd ever been. The gravel road turned to a one lane dirt road with pullouts and then to wheel tracks to the end and we were still two miles from the water.

Fishing ran hot and cold with a lot of browns brought to hand. The big ones we were hoping for alluded us this trip, Franzen broke a monster off and I lost a good fish (damn trout set)

I've included this to show franzen's casting technique. We taught him to sip tea this way but I did not realize it had carried over to his casting (side note: he was slapping down big foam flies, nothing that indicated he needed to be 'dainty'). I will say after yesterday I will be casting this way as he landed exactly three times as many fish as I did (yeah I was counting).

Nap time ( we actually headed up this feeder and caught a couple of brookies)

Since we haven't heard from Kyner I'm going to start putting one in for SOBF.

Brown does absolutely zilch for me the bastards. Glad they entertained your needs. Preferrential treatment is some BS b'; Hope you lads keep on those bluelines for the small window that's left of the year.
BTW, that 3rd pic is amazing, cept for those neeper looking waders Franzen is sporting. I guess it beats those dodgy soccer shorts and socks :-* Epic report Guy!

Pastor explains icons to my son: you know like the fish symbol on the back of cars.
My son: My dad has two fish on his car and they're both trout!
