Transylwader

With all the fishing I have been parttaking in over the past year, it was only time before I got bitched out by the missus, well, if you know me, I don't take well to instructions or threats kindly, so at 4AM I bailed into the dark and arrived in Transylwader Country bright and early. Evasive action is a good thing, especially when it's 4 hours away.

My boy Zane and I met up and we jetted back up to the Parkway to tae a stab at a drainage that should never be fished solo. Glad I had a fishing partner. Too bad he forgot a bunch of his shit, like wading boots, sun glasses and a rod, so he really was hampered...except for the rod. I carry a quiver of arrows at all times 8)

Wading in sandals has to rate as one of the most risky things I have seen up a rough blueline. He came a cropper several times, but I spared the cameras battery for the amazing scenery instead of a drowned rat shot!

The gates of hell are perfectly positioned a little ways up from the trib with the bigger less nasty blueline, and I see now why this place doesn't see action if any. I likes it alot!
We caught alot of small fish but one or two that were picture worthy, like this guy...

But seriously, enough jabber, these pix speak volumes about a very different looking North Carolina blueline...

Gawd awful brekkie, luckily I had gummy bears and loads of snickers. Egg n bacon in a greasy skillet if rank as all hell b';

So finally, The Dude & Buck showed up and I was eager to get some decent fishing under my belt, since i had to be home early to kiss some arse, we jetted straight up to the Parkway and into the briar filled slopes of Transylwader Country's sister.

This is what bluelining is about! We managed to get into some really good sized brookies.

Very buggy up at 5200ft. We caught em all on dries, although there was a point where the fish refused offers on top and we thought of taking them out with trolling rigs. This time of the year, I chose to mug myself. There is nothing better than seeing those buggers eat off the top -0- Winter is on it's way, so I can use that shitty nymph rig then...

Tie closed out on my trip, so we jetted out of blueline heaven. Got to the ridgeline in good time. Bye bye TWC, see you in a few weeks :'(

Epic 'c; A couple of those brookies (6 and 12 from bottom) are as pretty as I have ever seen bd;0 All of you suck, btw, give your wife my phone number next time you leave town. She won't care how long you stay gone next time ;D

There's more B.S. in fly fishing than there is in a Kansas feedlot.

NICE Mike. Glad the weather didn't totally shit all over you. I definitely gotta get up there this fall and work that lower section. That boulder hoping looks like fun times.

Now we'll all sit back and watch the streams get blown out by all this rain they are predicting.

The Dude

Mike,

You know you are on top of your game when you can pull off fishing for 8-inch brookies on a remote blueline and save you marriage in Raleigh all in the same day. Well done, sir. 8)

I was born by the river in a little tent,
And just like the river I've been running ever since,
It's been a long, long time coming,
But I know change is gonna come.

Pentax W90 (POS) settings all generic (food option brings out colours best) and the EV composition is on -0.3

Thanks, I take decent pix with an SLR, these point and shoot jobbies really cramp my style b';
