Ventured out of town this past weekend with a good friend.  Since we're both strapped for cash, we left his ride in the Walmart parking lot and drove the other 150 miles up to the land of dreams in the rental.

Arrived on time and made haste to the creek. The water levels were reasonable, but the temperatures were something to be desired. Tied to this, it was humid as all hell.

Lens kept getting fogged up...

A brown was eating the buffet line of nymphs and I nailed him on the 1st cast...



Early croakers

Got on the creek early on Saturday morning and the clouds stacked up by noon and all hell broke loose.

Took refuge under this conveniently located bridge. My lame excuse? I didn't wanna get the rental car key immobilizer wet 
An few minutes later, the sun came out with a vengeance and the stained water was perfect to walk right up on the browns who obliged...




I tied some real kak knots and paid heavily. Had a brown that probably would have gone 24" or better. He made swift work of the 4X tippet. I fell silent for a few minutes while my mate shook his head in disgust. Neither of us would raise another fish of that caliber again that day

Pussy was bleak we didn't chuck any fish up on the bank.

Today faired much better. Average fish were 15" or better.







Theres a shit ton of wild life up here too...

Great report!  Second on the wildlife sightings too, you had a whole smorgasbord of animals at the stream.  That doll in the water would of scared the daylights out of me too!
