Saturday morning me, three friends and the dog headed out to explore a new stretch of water.  We wade fished all day and camped that night. It turned out to be a gorgeous piece of river and there were plenty of other folks around to enjoy it, mostly kayakers and canoers who'd put in upstream.  The wading was as tough as any I've encountered...big ledges and crags combined with super slick rocks.  No one got out without at least banging up one shin or a knee.

The smallie bite was off and on.  Good fish came early in the day, then some heavy afternoon t-storms put a damper on things...soaking everyone and just about everything we had.  And it turned the fish off.  Later in the evening, once we got back near camp, the bite turned on again.  Two of us fished until it was dark while the other two fired up the coals.  Dinner cooked slow while we hung around the fire and made sure the coolers were empty for the hike back in the morning.  I had a blast and hope to come back and float this section soon. Until then..
