Got a temporary job stint close to the corner of Main and French Broad streets in Brevard, so figured I might as well do some fishing after work.  So I decided to hit a close to town creek that I had heard stories of legendary browns from the local elders.  Also heard that the recent droughts and some poaching had all but made this creek unfishable. I was hoping to get on some decent size browns this evening.

If only I could remember to charge the damn camera battery before I go out and I could take more than 3 pictures before it dies.
First cast produced a baby, but it wasn't a brown...

The next pool up produced this pretty good size rainbow.

This section of the water was getting overgrown with rhodo and another small 'bow brought to hand meant it was time to move further on upstream to find the browns.

I took this random picture, not sure what it is, camera battery died shortly after.

Not long after this I caught the brown I was hunting, looked at the watch and realized the baseball game was about to start and I was starving so I got outta there and headed home. It's nice to be able to catch wild trout and only have to drive 5-10 minutes.

Can't beat the after-work fishing.   -0-

That last pic looks to be a duck house, built a few of those in my day.

Nice getting out there after work.  The hell with the camera, just keep casting! 'c;

Foulhook, go down there to Ingles and load up. They have the best beer selection I have ever seen.

There's more B.S. in fly fishing than there is in a Kansas feedlot.

Ingles does have a lot of beer... But their $3.52 gas might be a better deal.

I'm confused................You're drinking gasoline?

Nah, I'd be dead. I just ain't seen it any cheaper anywhere around, and I've been traveling in all directions quite a bit for work. And I feel like Ingles beers are a little pricey, especially all them micro brew junk. Budweiser, Yuengling, or PBR is good enough for me.

The North Asheville one is quite impressive, but I might need to swing by the Brevard one next time out out that way for a look.  I concur on their cheap gas, Long Shoals Rd. Ingles has really cheap gas too and it is right off I-26.

FoulHook

Haha, I'll have to watch that later, no speakers on my computer at work. ::)
