Following in The Dudes footsteps, here's a recollection of my weekend. I got to Transylvania County at high noon.

Laughed my ass of at the million douche bags fishing the Davidson, so I thought of being a smart ass and fishing the gorge section above the hatchery. I could care less, thats some beautiful water and I caught the crap outta the bows. Too bad they were all dinks...

A father and daughter duo decided to drop in front of me. I thought dropping in happened on heavily localized surfspots, oh well, I guess some people just don't have etiquette in general.

Headed over to a brown stronghold on the otherside of Balsam Grove and was taken aback by how high the water was. The current was strong and I almost bit it a few times. After I got the browns going, I had to finish off a Transylvania Slam. Headed up a feeder of a feeder and sealed the deal.

On Saturday, I met up with a father son combo. Took em down one of the elite honey holes and they were loving life. Brookies came to hand every other minute. Not very much size. Kinda sucked, but hey, it's brookie. Beats standing shoulder to shoulder flogging for pellet heads b';

Buck gettin it on, just the sight to see after a heavy night :embarassed:
Dude and I headed over the ridge to one of my alltime favortite brookie streams. The water was high and some sections were sketchy as all hell.

First fall crossing was dodgy as all heck.
First brookie had some weird spots indeed, look closely and you'll see the "flaw" of nature...

Dude bagged fish of the day. I simply am at a loss for words as to why there weren't more bigguns.

This take out point will be our put in point next time. Busted over the ridge and high tailed it home. Got in after a leisurly 6 hour drive, 3 redbulls and a buzz from hell. Cheers gents, it was a grand weekend.
Tee Dub out ;D

Pastor explains icons to my son: you know like the fish symbol on the back of cars.
My son: My dad has two fish on his car and they're both trout!

Good lookin' chit Mike.

Those smokes will get you.  Gave up the 'social' habit I had for my New Years resolution this year.

I fished a little on the Davidson on Friday after leaving work early and also my usual place upstream, water was higher than I expected.  I did much better today.

Smoking was a "temp" thing, so don't y'all preach about how I need to quit! Ben, were you fishing near the hatchery? I saw drones of people. I thought I could get away from the crowds by fishing the "non pellet head water and still got walked on. Thats why Balsam Grove owns it. All of that water is private and I have access (I know most of the landowners - legit!) -0-

Nope...was fishing the lowest of the lower D on Friday...for all of about 30 minutes.  Was taking the father of my girlfriends friend fishing who was here from out of town and he wanted to land a few pellet heads.  I gave up on that chit real quick and we hit some wild water and he had a blast.

The Dude

Great summary.  Let's get back to that area once terrestrial season gets into full swing.
I was born by the river in a little tent, And just like the river I've been running ever since, It's been a long, long time coming, But I know change is gonna come.

Thanks much Mike and John (and Buck for the cheap entertainment!).  Phillip and I had a blast, and hope to do it again sometime. (I guess I should look around for some good fish porn and post a proper into. before elbowing too far into this campfire. I just signed up today-now I know where everybody went...SHD

P.S.: Do I have to answer the hook size question on every post?  :)
