I went out to my home waters for probably the last time before the weather locks up the warm water fishes. Bluegill and bass were everywhere, and the hoards of pain in the ass grass carp were holding in the usual spots. I haven't really gone after them this year because they piss me off and fight like Jimmy Hoffa with cement shoes, but I didn't have the time to travel to a common carp lake, so I gave it a shot. I was shocked that I actually got one to eat. Although these big bastards don't run you into the backing, I fought this thing(or rather, it fought me) for 20 minutes. No shit....I am not exaggerating. I ran him out into open water to keep away from brush piles, and it hung on the bottom and made 50 foot head shaking freight train runs....over and over and over..... I had the same ski boat assholes drive by me 4 times before I got him to the net. Forgot the camera. Had my hands full. Yada yada. It was a big fish. Here's a phone pic or two which make it look small. Although they aren't the best fighters, and certainly not the prettiest fish, I have a lot of respect for this one. It did not want to give up, and flew out my hands after a long fight.

Man they sure are some ugly pieces of fat with scales on them.
Hell yeah. Love me some Poor Man's Milkfish.
They have to be the most challenging thing I've fished for. Have only hooked four, landed three. Never been able to land one in less than ten minutes.
