A friend and I got out and braved the thunderstorm forecasts for today.
we started out under clear skies at a beautiful stream that was new to me.
after hiking a mile or so in to give room to a couple other fly fishermen we started to fish.
we fished our way up stream a half mile or so further catching beautiful little rainbows. he on a dry dropper, and I on a tandem nymph rig. the whole time with clouds gathering until around 1:30 when the wind picked up and it started to pour..we made our way back to the truck with lightning cracking uncomfortably close, and discussed whether to call it a day..

back at the truck, with hot coffee and snacks in us we decided to head to some bigger water to chuck some meat. the water at the next river was rising with the steady down pour and was stained with runoff. streamers proved very productive with many big fish brought to hand including a monster brown of about 25" that didn't want his picture taken.
epic soaking wet day on the water..here's some pics..
