Went down to the SoHo yesterday with my fishing buddy Brad. It turns out damn near everyone else had the same idea. It was a beautiful day with with a decent generation schedule (for a change).

We started out above the spawning zone. The parking lots were absolutely full and the fishermen were stacked like cord wood. It was a bluebird day and we struggled to catch a couple fish.

After a couple hours we decided to run down to the Rockhold area, figuring the fishing wouldn't be any worse and it would be less crowded. We got there and waited for the water to go down. The fishing wasn't any better, we hardly saw any rises. The water seemed to stay a little high so maybe that was why the fish didn't come out to play (I gotta have some thing to blame.) I picked up one 11" brown and that was it. So I guess there was a reason there wasn't the crowds.

Decent fishing but not so good on the catching.

Pastor explains icons to my son: you know like the fish symbol on the back of cars.
My son: My dad has two fish on his car and they're both trout!

Are you using super duper small midges?  I hear that is the key to the Soho unless a hatch is happening/.

Yeah I was fishing size 22 DMC midges or stripper midges, usually dropped under an 18 or so dry (the dry was more or less just an indicator.)
Those fish do like the small, small flies. Even during a good sulphur hatch I don't tend to go bigger than a 16.
