It might not happen for a while, but i've been considering building a bamboo rod for some time now.  I know a lot of ya'll fish bamboo, and thought it would be a good project during my down time... if that ever comes.

I built my first rod last winter, and i am pretty happy with how it turned out.  I used a dan craft 905-6pc blank, and it casts great.

I know building a boo rod is a lot more involved, so if anyone here has built one, any advice would be appreciated.  I will probably just try to buy a blank for my first rod instead of splitting and tapering my own.  I think that is probably beyond me right now.  I am thinking it will probably be a 7'6" to 8' 4wt.

Any suggestions on blanks, materials, or just general knowledge would be great.  Thanks
