I think he just don't like but one side his family. >:D

Thanks HP.  I just think you proved Obama's point.

Obama is an ok guy, I'd probably have a beer with him (if he drinks beer).   0--0  We'd argue over his economic policy and probably agree that the social conservatives have lost a little ground, and rightly so.  I do think he's pretty sincere, but I can't support a weak socialist, that experiment just didn't work.  I think he's a better fit for Canada than the US.  I do agree that he's refreshing and a good guy and all that soft stuff, but Wooly's a good guy too and you don't see us nominating him for president.  Sorry Wooly, maybe in another 4 yrs.   :'(

Bring on the smites.

Someone mentioned something about Obama being honest.............show me a politician that IS honest and I'll gladly vote for them. The whole lot, both Dems. and Reps., are nothing more than crooked bastages. Let's face it.......all candidates promise to do alot of things just to get elected. In the end, they'll do whatever the lobbyists tell them...........I mean pay them to do. Money talks.......bullshit walks.  o-o

I have to say I am inspired by this discussion.  Clearly not everybody agrees with the posting, but there is a lot of lucid, thoughtful discussion put forth in any event and from reading past posts, I know that much of it is coming from people who have a decidedly more conservative bent to their politics.  By posting their replies, they are honoring the system in their disagreement and respectfully putting up their positions.  I think that is awesome!

Oh - and there's a moron or two demonstrating their bigotry and in-bred sensibility, but that's not a surprise.  Easy enough to look past.

Thanks for the solid political chatter!

TBII- You gonna let him talk about you like that ///?

John-Do you think it's just a coincidence that Obama has received about 90% of the black vote? I believe all to often it is forgotten that bigotry and racism works both ways. 8)

This post is proof why leaving in the United States is so great. Freedom of speech. The one point everyone is missing is. Not one single man can change everyones beliefs and bring everyone together just by making him
president. I really don't care if your black or white, all I care is you get this overblown out of control Gov. out of Businesses and everyday working peoples affairs. Do its job which should be protecting our borders and keeping up our highways. Let the states control themselves like the fore fathers wanted. That way you get rid of that small few % that has so much control of what we do. one man should not make or break this country.

Regardless of witch candidate you support, this has certainly been an entertaing campaign.

Obama has been described as a fresh new look or hope.
So I started to study this out of curiosity. Why are so many saying he rises above politics, or that he brings fresh new ideas?

I read most of his speeches looking for clues. What I found were really the same buzzwords, vision, new direction, united, new leadership and new hope, take back America and other's that are commonly found in every political speech.

I looked at other speeches, given by candidates of both parties, and could easily highlight
These buzzwords, most of them found within a paragraph on the same page.

I looked at ten different polls, to seek out clues.
Obama does have a strong lead amongst the young voter population, so I focused in this section and asked myself why are the young voters so enthralled with him. Are they going on his record? He has very little in the way of passing any legislation, or actively participating in new programs. He is a freshman senator so he does not have a long senate voting history trail to follow.

The it ocoured to me, none of the poll question I read asked anything about voting records, what was the most important legislative vote your candidate made last year? Or can you list the last ten votes your candidate made that you supported.

My guess is most voters, from either party couldn't answer this question. Witch leads me to believe most votes are cast by popularity.

Whatever the populous wind is, the proverbial flavor of the month.

I have concluded, one thing. I have invested "far too much time" to arrive at this conclusion.

I could have been tying flies, or cleaning and conditioning gear.

McCain:  :o please not another 4 more years of Bush

Clinton and Obama:  o-o Nothing like that Robin Hood Agenda.  Both would be like getting a hand job while their free hand reaches around and slips out your wallet. It felt good but man did it cost

The only change that will happen in DC either way sucks to me.

TM, I really don't see the connection in what you said.  It is not "racist" for black people to support Obama, no matter how much of them are doing it.  Its not like Obama is just going to treat black people as his constituents... Although I think it is true that he uses his race for his advantage, haven't white people been doing that for the last 500 years?  I just don't understand how black people voting for a black man has anything to do with bigotry... Is it racist for you to vote for McCain? Because he is white.

TM 3000 -

There's hope for you yet.  Nice to see a teen that gets a little bit past You-tube.  You are not ready to take on Phish yet (nor do I wish to for that matter) 'cause he really does do his home work ( ;hb) even if I don't agree with him, but I'm glad to see you interested in this most important election.  Are you old enough to vote?

I read alot of negative remarks about Bush and the war in Iraq. But one thing all Bush haters won't acknowledge is that there has not been a terrorist attack in this country since 9/11 2001. But i guess no one will give Bush any credit for that. As for the worst president in U.S. history, did we forget about Carter?
