New River trip being planned - any suggestions welcome

I've got an acquaintance that's looking to put together a trip in October to the New River.  They have canoes and are looking for an area of the river that has good fishing with a 2-3 hour float, low numbers of rafters, and a cabin for 4-8 folks somewhere in/around the float stretch.  Any suggestions on locations are appreciated as they don't really have any leads right now...
