Just read this report:

Quote(CNN) -- North Carolina authorities Sunday are searching for a 12-year-old Boy Scout, who went missing a day earlier during a camping trip near the Blue Ridge Parkway, local officials told CNN.

The boy, Michael Auberry, of Greensboro, North Carolina, remained with an adult at the campsite while other scouts went for a hike, said Dave Bauer of the Blue Ridge Parkway National Park Services.

Michael Auberry, 12, of Greensboro was camping with Boy Scout Troop 230 at a site off Grassy Gap Fire Road, said David Bauer, a ranger for the Blue Ridge Parkway. Bauer said today that Auberry had stayed at the campsite with an adult while the other boys went on a hike yesterday morning. He ate lunch with the other boys when they returned, and was reported missing a short while later.

Bauer said that Auberry is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs 110 pounds. He has curly brown hair and wears wire-frame glasses. He was last seen wearing blue jeans a red reflective jacket, a long-sleeved sweatshirt, hiking boots and a dark blue Tar Heels baseball cap.

I was reading the report. It doesn't sound to good.
It's going to be another cold night, I hope they find him soon.

With a clear sky the lows will be in the 20's, we all know how tough that terrain is.
Tomorrow promises sunny skies, I hope he makes it through another night.

Latest I've heard was that they were camping up Basin Creek at the group campsite.

That's a pretty rough area to be in, and it's got the thurmond gamelands on both sides of the park...

Mee too. I kept thinking about him all last night and today.

From what I read he was alone at camp with an adult before lunch. I hate to say it, but it made me wonder what happened that morning. :-\

Yes Mark I was thinking the same thing. Read on Bellsouth.com (now it is national, the lost boy that is) that the FBI is now involved.

I really dont care what you regulars that post here think.... We all gotta pray that this young man makes it. We gotta hope and pray for the best. After its all over yall can do what ya want but meantime PRAY.

Well I think we all have our thoughts with the boy and his family as well as the people on the ground searching. We've all most likely been in a situation alone in the woods not making it back to camp before dark, or missing a trail, it's not easy to think of a 12 year old having to spend his third night on the mountain. I sure hope the find him soon. One of the guys on the other board has posted that he's been helping in the search. My son and I had a talk about it today, he said he would go help tomorrow (maybe he's got a test), but we talked about knowing the terrain your in, studying the maps and knowing where the creeks lead. The topography in that cove is quite rugged, with a lot of waterfalls on the creeks but you would think that if he was staying on the road (where they found his mess kit) it's up to the parkway and down to long bottom road. Get off the trail and it's not an easy climb in any direction. You can teach them the basic skills, #1 Stay Put! Maybe this kids doesn't want to be found? Or as darkness crept in around him panic could have taken over. I just hope it turns out okay.

FANTASTIC! I am so glad to hear it! A coworker just told me he saw it on MSN so I logged on right away.
I can't tell you how happy it makes me that he was found alive. ;D
