OK....after years of making jokes about Filson hats, tweed vests and meerschaum pipes, I finally caught my first trout on a cane rod.  The Benevolent Saint Troutphisher bestowed upon me a SWEET 7.5 foot 5wt Tea Stick rod.  I'm not quite sure if I should thank him or curse his name until the end of eternity....I think I may be starting down a path that will ultimately lead to a hideous divorce and utter financial ruin.  I should be so lucky to live in a van down by the river....

Picked up the rod yesterday at FedEx and headed straight to the river.  I promised TP some high quality Gallatin river trout porn in exchange for his kindness.  Caught this fellow (my first on tha boo) on my third cast.  He took a size 14 cream caddis and tail walked for me three times.....some serious mojo in that tea stick, for sure!

Caught five more dinks over the next hour and called it a night.

So now I'm looking at Ebayin' all my plastic rods and spending my kids college money to feed my new cane monkey. miserable bastard  >:D

Heh....  Lookin at that pic blown up, that's actually some very poor quality porn..... SOB flipped right as I clicked the shutter and there's a duck turd in the top of the frame.  Hmmmmm.....methinks I'll have to gather some more porn tomorrow  ::)

Another example of catch and kill for a kodiak moment? Perhaps you were just rolling him in gravel as special preparation for one of your exotic dishes? Or, perhaps you are just the huk-up I always thought you were.

just observin.................
ex - I'm not going to live with you through one more fishing season!
me -There's a season?

Pastor explains icons to my son: you know like the fish symbol on the back of cars.
My son: My dad has two fish on his car and they're both trout!

Sorry to offend your sensibilities, Al.  I know, I know....I should have dumped lime in the stream and killed the whole lot of them.  Ain't that right?  And I've had that reel for 12 years and it's been through a lot worse.

My apologies to all  :-[

Dam Jetti!

I give you a boo rod, and you toss it in the gravel?????
