I fished one of my favorite wild streams today. This is a free stone stream with lots of cover and canopy. The air temp was 65 and the water temp was 53.
The water was crystal clear, with lots of leaf litter from the trees.

I started the day fishing nymphs at 11:00am. I tried to fish the riffles, and some of the slower runs, but caught more leaves then fish. I could see some fish rising between the leafs, I noticed a BWO hatch size 18-20, but it was sporadic at best.

About 1:00pm a good light colored caddis hatch started and I switched flies to a cinnamon caddis size 18. I had several fish rise  between the leaves, and it was fun.
Landed several nice bows, and some good browns. The browns are in full spawn colors, with deep gold and bright red spots. I fished the dry, the rest of the afternoon and had great fun.

The weather was great and the fishing just as good.

Here are a few pics of the fish and stream.

It was a great day to be on the stream, it started out with a little rain but turned into a fabulous fall day!

Nice browns you got there!
ex - I'm not going to live with you through one more fishing season!

Pastor explains icons to my son: you know like the fish symbol on the back of cars.
My son: My dad has two fish on his car and they're both trout!
