Many of you know of or have met Streamer aka Jule McDowell.

Jule has been on these forums and boards for forever and made many friends over the years on these forums.

It is with the utmost sadness and heartache that I write to let all of Jule's internet friends know that he is losing his battle with Cancer.

A few weeks ago, Jule became unable to swallow, which of course would not allow him to eat or drink.

They placed a feeding tube in, hoping that he would be able to gain some strength and then be able to continue his chemo regimen.

He developed pneumonia about 10 days ago and has been hospitalized since.  The doctors cannot get him to turn the corner on the pneumonia even with powerful antibiotics.  I was able to see him Thursday of this past week, as I was in Raleigh working. Through mutual agreement, I went to see him.  Betsy warned me to be prepared for how bad he looked.

I was able to speak with his son Ryan during my visit, and the doctors have said there is nothing more they can do.

I received a text this morning from Betsy.  Morgan and Colin (Jule's other two children) are on their way to be with their dad. They are considering moving him to hospice tomorrow.  The doctor said once that happens, they expect things to happen very quickly.

Jule is one of my best friends, a constant fishing buddy on all the PFF trips over the last 20 years.  Our boys grew up camping and fishing together.  My heart aches for that wonderful family.

They wanted his fishing family to know his status.  I will post an update when I get one.

God Speed Bubba, I love you..

Not good - praying that his passing is swift and painless.

Yer Pal,
Streamer

Did not know him, but it seems he had the correct attitude towards the big C.

Too many friends and kin gone because of it.  It will likely get more of us.

So, fuck cancer!

Out to smoke a bowl in the rain and think.

Peace to his family and friends.
