Where have all the posters gone, long time passing?
Where have all the posters gone, long time ago?
Where have all the posters gone? Gone to Facebook everyone
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?

Some of the more prolific content producers are busy raising small fry, and working to keep their families whole.

Others just choose to be non verbal.

Life been a real ball buster this year.  Been out fishing for a grand total of a half day all year.  Wife is having her third rib reconstruction surgery next week.  Three kids, two girls that are doing sports, and one two year old boy that is nicknamed Wreck it Ralph. Had a spring camping trip that fell through due to weather and then my fall trip got cancelled due to wife's surgery getting moved up to Sept.  Life can sure throw you some curveballs. I've kind of taken a step back from a lot of things as of late.  Social media, forums, etc.

Busy, busy, busy!

My campaign manager and I have been working with my PAC for the ASS Party (Antisocial Socialist Party).  Our mascot is an eastern wild turkey with its head hiding in a chipmunk hole.  A write-in campaign for the 2024 presidential election is hard work.  I am concerned about my criminal record.  I was almost arrested back in the 70's for urinating in a parking lot before entering the Hokie House in downtown Blacksburg.  The transgression seems fairly benign compared to some of my opponents' wrongdoings, but you never can tell with the American voting public.

Seriously, like Big J stated, life's curveballs abound.
1.   2 grandboys that require my tutoring and hardening
2.   3 county committee assignments
3.   Moderator for upcoming local county election debate
4.   Working with local chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation
5.   Conditions dry as popcorn fart, no water, no fishing
6.   Arthritis in ankles
7.   10+ year old artificial knee acting funny
8.   Local fire and rescue obligations
9.   Wife getting older and adopting my unpleasant habits (genetics through osmosis)
10.   Neighborhood friends passing

Many curveballs!  Just trying not to strike out.

BUT, no Facebook.

I'd love to see a good ole hillbilly debate.

Your situation will improve.

I hope the surgery goes well for your wife.

My MIL is recovering nicely after hers.  12" plate, 10 screws, 4 wire straps, 14" femur incision w/ 53 clamps. She will be 91 in two weeks.

I'm seeing a discovery sportsman square stern canoe being a gamechanger.  Take the whole fam down the Otter or the James.
Some girls really enjoy fishing.  My wife's aunt used to fish as much as Keith when her husband was alive.  My eldest sister loves to fish but rarely has the opportunity to go.  Women cannot indulge in sports such as this alone like men due to risk of sexual assault. This does not mean they don't want to.

We all fish for weird reasons, but many do so to honor pleasant memories of the past. If you want fishing buddies when you're in your 50s, take your kids fishing as often as possible.

Brings to mind one of my favorite T-shirts that I received as a gift from my son a few years ago.

Sedition and Pockets

Web 1.0 style forums have been dying for 15 years or more. Ain't none of us getting younger.  Life has a way of complicating.  We find other callings.

I sure do miss your salt water reports.
