I tried the Nikwax two step process on a couple older Cabelas jackets the other day. One was lightweight (20 years old), and one heavier with lining (30 years old). Extensive loss of seam tape in both jackets. Possibility I might retape the light one, but the liner would have to be torn out to do the heavy one.
Guess that stuff falls apart when it gets old, much like we do.
