Onslow

The last month has been a bear.  Workload has been hot, my lady has been down quite a bit this Winter with respiratory viruses, but no covid or flu.  That is why I was shocked to lose my taste earlier in the month after thinking I just had a rough cold. The lingering after-effects have been more tiresome than the virus itself, and the allergens are most certainly not making things fun.

Had a few hours to sneak out to enjoy the flowers.  Headed off to the hills after doing some things at the farm.  I also needed to practice rock scrambling so I'll be adequately prepared for some aggro gnar a few weeks from now.

This creek ranges from 400-850 fpm. Once it reaches the 800 fpm mark, opportunities to fish diminish.

Mayflies were popping.  Stones were nowhere to be seen.  I've honestly never seen so many mayflies out on a stream of this size.   Some of the varieties I've never seen before, but most appeared to be BQs and BWOs.

I'm losing it. Lost so many fish due to poor hooksetting :embarassed:

Tis a great time to look at the flowers (1500'-1950').  The grassless environs relieved my lungs of the scorched lung grass allergy.

What a fantastically beautiful spot, and that pool... :bow

Glad you got out.  I'm looking forward to some free time soon.

When fishing, a person ought to carry a flask of whisky in case of snakebite. Furthermore, he ought to also carry along a small snake.

My son: My dad has two fish on his car and they're both trout!
