"When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful
A miracle, oh, it was beautiful, magical
And all the birds in the trees, well they'd be singing so happily
Oh, joyfully, oh, playfully watching me

But then they sent me away to teach me how to be sensible
Logical, oh, responsible, practical
Then they showed me a world where I could be so dependable
Oh, clinical, oh, intellectual, cynical

There are times when all the world's asleep
The questions run too deep
For such a simple man
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned?
I know it sounds absurd
Please tell me who I am

I said, now, watch what you say, they'll be calling you a radical
A liberal, oh, fanatical, criminal
Oh, won't you sign up your name? We'd like to feel you're acceptable
Respectable, oh, presentable, a vegetable
Oh, take, take, take it, yeah."

This radical has been working. Too much?
Hoo hoo hoo. Making custom wreaths.

Got out twice in the last week. Rains have bumped the flows.
Creek one was rocking. Very different stream top to bottom.
All of it is challenging wading. I'll get it figured out one day.  b';
Two little browns. Did not swim.

A nearby creek that is a bit of a last resort for me.
It was flowing good, but not stupid this morning.
Euro'd with a vintage 8' glass rod.

Wood, wood, and more wood.

I had caught about 10 fish, brookies and bows.
And I started thinking about the big falls up a branch of the stream.
This amount of water means they should be showy.
And it had been 15-20 years since I had been up there.
Bushwacked over to the trail and headed up.

National forest. Wear orange!

I am aerobically out of shape!
Need to start training again.
Finally made it to the falls.

200' tall tumbler.
Ate a quick lunch, had my last trail beer and headed back down the slippery trail.
No flies lost today. And I was ticking the bottom all day.  :Dance

Nice to see Doug out on a brookie stream.  And those falls were a lot nicer than when I visited them this summer haha.  Daughter was highly disappointed at that long hike to the "Falls" haha.

Nice, Doug. Thank you for posting.  I haven't been fishing in so long I forget what it's like.
(Great song, BTW -- the best one they ever did imo)

No mistaking Doug for a deer (or deer hunter) in his orange!

Good Christmas cheer report :cheers

It is a pity it takes so damn long to soften turkey tails.  It would be great if one could simply chop them, and throw em in a kettle of grits. Perhaps I should try the old school grits that takes 45 minutes to cook.

Slow grits are the only way to go.  V:;

JT, Turkey tails are hard/firm. Multicolored.
Oysters are softer, colors can be varied.
